Mana, a venture-backed consumer social platform for the passion economy, is looking for a customer-focused developer who can help build a rich, engaging experience for our users on iOS and Android (using React Native).
We’re a small, but capable team looking for a like-minded individual who never feels “too senior” to roll up their sleeves or thinks, “that’s not my job.” In a startup, we’ll be wearing many hats. We’ve been building our mobile app since October 2021 and are launching a beta version this coming month (Feb’22).
You will join our technical team (2 backend developers and 2 React/React Native developers to bring the mobile app to launch and further enhance the app with new content formats. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of React Native (with a bonus of React/web app knowledge) and will be able to lead the front end efforts with autonomy.
The role will start on a contract with scope to convert to full time if there is mutual interest.
Responsibilities
- Develop iOS and Android apps for our consumer social platform using React Native
- Work collaboratively with the tech team and the founders to build a world class product with realistic timelines we will hold ourselves accountable for
- Write “clean” and well-designed and scalable code
- Troubleshoot, test and maintain the mobile app (and web app) to ensure a smooth and enjoyable user experience
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle from requirements through top deployment
Skills & Experiences
- Mobile-first design principles and building cross-platform Android and iOS applications using React Native
- Have built beautiful visualizations with smooth animations for mobile or web
- Strong React, React Native and Typescript knowledge
- A good understanding of CSS
- Experience working on low latency, highly scalable, multi-tiered applications
- Hands-on architecture, development, & maintenance
