Revel is building the modern community for women over age 40. We are backed by Forerunner Ventures and Y Combinator and were recently named one of the Most Innovative Companies of 2020 by Fast Company.

ABOUT REVEL

  • Revel is a community-building platform for women over 40+. Our mission is to ignite an empowered, confident, and supportive community of women, who defy outdated stereotypes about what is possible as women age.
  • We’ve built the tools for our members to organize in-person or virtual events with other members of the community. Our Revel events are places to meet other women who are “Reveling” in mid-life -- physically, emotionally, and intellectually.
  • Revel launched in August 2019 in the San Francisco Bay Area and we’ve since expanded to LA, San Diego, New York City and Washington, DC. We currently have 10,000 members, targeting 20,000 by end of year.
  • 90%+ of the events on the Revel platform are created and run by our member-hosts. Our member-hosts are a special and integral part of the Revel community.
  • We launched a new feature called Revel “Groups” in September. These are interest-based communities in which online discussion can flourish. Any member can create a group on a topic she cares about, and we call these special members of our community our Group Curators.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detailed-oriented leader to own Revel’s host and curator experience and operations. This position is a full-time role and will have input into designing the overall Revel host and curator program and direct responsibility for managing the day to day operations of the department. Though this role to start will not involve direct management, you will have the opportunity to grow your team and lead your department as Revel grows.

We’re a small, remote team where you’ll have immediate impact. You’ll work daily alongside our CEO, COO, CCO, VP of Engineering, and Director of Marketing — and most importantly, you’ll have direct contact daily with our members and hosts.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Help create host recruitment and engagement strategies and initiatives.
  • Develop systems for the host-experience flow, step by step tools, logistics, and support to maximize host-experience and event success (including host onboarding and training).
  • Create and run ‘surprise and delight’ programs for hosts, including but not limited to throwing exclusive host-only events, sending swag/gifts to hosts, and other appreciation-driven initiatives.
  • Provide one on one support for Revel hosts, including helping to create and post her events to the website, joining her events to provide Revel support, gathering feedback from hosts and answering host questions.
  • Help grow the percent of active Revel members who host from 5% today to 8% by end of Q2 2022.
  • Manage Revel Groups, including new group submissions, onboarding of Group Curators, and day-to-day initiatives to encourage engagement within groups.

WHAT WE VALUE

  • You have 5+ years experience scaling a community within a hospitality, event coordination, or community management role (or equivalent consumer-facing role).
  • You have experience putting in place and executing on operational processes.
  • You use data to identify opportunities and execute meaningful action plans based on the data.
  • You take initiative, bring ideas to the table, and are able to troubleshoot or problem-solve in real time.
  • You're a strong collaborator who embraces working on a small, fast-paced startup team.
  • You have a curious, user-first mindset that’s always putting our members and hosts’ experience first.
  • BONUS: Experience using Gmail, Google Office Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.), Looker, Slack, Zendesk and/or other customer support and management tools.
